A True Gift!
I think it’s time for a book review. I have to admit that I have been quite lacking in the reading department. The last several months have been crazy but these three books I have quite enjoyed. They were given to me by a sweet gentleman at my office who in fact wrote these himself.
Seven Days was an exciting and captivating read. Mr. Brooks shares the story of a character named, Nick Brooks. The journey takes you through Vietnam, the challenges of the arduous recovery, and the shocking twist of truths that can arrest us in love and protecting our family. Mr. Brooks has stated that some of the content is inspired by true events and you feel that with the history of Vietnam. You feel Nick’s pain as he faces many challenges and questions about life, mental health, faith and love. You even ask yourself how would you handle some of the given situations. This was wonderfully written for a first time author. Bravo, Mr Brooks!
As part of the trilogy that Mr. Brooks has written, you will find A Family’s Heart and Beyond Jesus, to take you on the continuing saga of Nick’s family through the years. A Family’s Heart takes you on a ride of struggles they face as worldly ways can entrap them, how the bonds of true family ties hold strong, and the testing of faith that we all face. Mr. Brooks weaves the very essence of each person’s story into an unbreakable connection of resilience.
While you have went through their trials together, Beyond Jesus will take you to a more spiritual level. A level that took studying the Bible and it’s origins for decades. I love the fact that Mr. Brooks has studied the other biblical languages as the way it was originally written thousands of years ago. I have been a student of that for 20 years thanks to my dad. When you read the words of God the way they were written to be understood, wow, a whole new world opens and any uncertainty you had before, whether believer or non believer, can dissipate. I have seen people’s eyes open myself. It’s a true gift.
I am very proud of this wonderful collection from a wonderful human being. This is a testament that we can do anything we set our minds to, even write a book! He has inspired me as well. If you’re reading, Allen, thank you again for your thoughtfulness.
My best to you and your journey!
