Christmas Spirit
I cannot believe how fast this year has went by. I know it sounds cliche to say that but it has indeed left me in the dust. Don’t fret my dear, all is not lost. We have a few more weeks to enjoy the season we love! The lights, the tree, the carols, the never ending baked goodies, oh, and lest we forget, the laughter and tears from our favorite Christmas movies.
I know many this year will be enjoying their time with loved ones, new and old. I also know many who would love to but have lost loved ones or are literally alone. It’s those people we need to give an extra hug and if you can, do a little something to make them feel good inside. That’s what the season brings out in us, right?
I lost my dad last year and it was an adjustment to go through all those “ firsts” without him. My dad loved Christmas and when I mean love, I mean all the lights, blow up figures in the yard, trees all inside his rooms, and his well known 20 some moose dolls he bought from every store he could find. I walked in during the last Christmas with him and I could not believe my eyes at all the moose taking up the room, wearing light up necklaces and Christmas lights strung about them. It was a sight. He called them The Moose Tabernacle Choir. I miss him so much, especially at this time.
I want you to really sit back and be aware how blessed you are, even if the year was a mess for you, just know you’re a blessing. You have a purpose. So take in all the festive moments you can with family and friends. Share memories of those who have gone and make new ones in their honor. Take time to relax and fully enjoy the season. I promise you that your heart and soul with thank you. Merry Christmas!
